NS 110

Course Description

This course is a survey of the physical sciences, earth sciences, and life sciences, their historical/philosophical development, and their Biblical roots. The scientific method as a tool for investigating both empirical and historical questions will be examined, along with the limits to scientific inquiry. Principles of science will be introduced for the purpose of laying a groundwork for further understanding of apologetics issues that are science-related. A rudimentary understanding of mathematics and terminology will be expected. The universe is presented as an open system in which divine agency operates alongside natural law. Biblical and naturalistic claims of origins will be contrasted and scientific concepts introduced, but in cursory fashion only. 3 units
