Course Description

This course explores hermeneutical theories and principles which have been developed by the leading biblical scholars including historical, philosophical, linguistic, theological, and biblical issues related to the discipline. Special attention will be given to hermeneutical issues relating to biblical genres such as narrative, poems, and prophecy, the New Testament use of the Old Testament, contextualization, and the contemporary relevance of Scripture. Prerequisite: Hermeneutics. Trimester. 3 Units.
