Cory Marsh is Professor of New Testament and Director of the ThM program at Southern California Seminary. He is a four-time graduate of SCS: BA in Biblical Studies (summa cum laude); Master of Arts in Biblical Studies; Master of Divinity (academic distinction); and Master of Theology (academic distinction). In 2021, Cory received the Ph.D. in Biblical Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO under the supervision of Andreas J. Köstenberger.

A committed academic and churchman, Cory is passionate about restoring the “pastor-scholar” role. He is the co-founder and host of the Pastor Scholar Podcast and serves as Scholar in Residence at Revolve Bible Church in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Most recently, Cory serves as President of the Evangelical Theological Society Far West Region (2024-2025).

Cory’s research interests are in the fields of biblical theology, Johannine literature, and hermeneutical theory. He is a member of The Evangelical Theological Society, The Society of Biblical Literature, Institute for Biblical Research, and the Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics. He is also a founding member of the Creation Theology Society, and currently serves on the steering committee of Bible Faculty Summit.

In addition to contributing chapters for multiple academic works, Cory has authored two full-length books, A Primer on Biblical Literacy (2022) and Discovering Dispensationalism: Tracing the Development of Dispensational Thought from the First to the Twenty-First Century (2023, co-editor). He is the general editor of the Studies in Judeo-Christian Thought Monograph Series (SCS Press), and is currently writing books for both Kregel Academic and for Christian Focus on topics engaging dispensationalism, biblical -fundamentalism, and evangelicalism.

Cory has been married to his high school sweetheart Shannan for 15 years and they live in Mission Viejo, CA. They are active members of Revolve Bible Church in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
