Biography

Before joining SCS as Professor of Bible and Theology, Dr. Mutie served as an adjunct professor in the School of Religion, Liberty University Online. He also served as adjunct professor of the History of Christian Thought at Beulah Heights University. He has served in several teaching pastorate positions in the DFW area since coming to the US in 2003.

Originally from Kenya, Dr. Mutie received his Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) degree from Scott Theological College in Kenya where he majored in Bible and Theology. After moving to the United States in 2003, Mutie earned his Master of Theology (Th.M.) degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, majoring in Historical Theology and Academic Ministries. Mutie graduated from Dallas Seminary with his Ph.D. in Historical Theology in 2013. He is the author of the well-received book entitled: Death in Second-Century Christian Thought: The Meaning of Death in Earliest Christianity (Pickwick, 2015, Eugene, Oregon; James Clarke & Co, Cambridge, U.K., 2015). Jeremiah has been married to his wife, Eunice, for 14 years. They have twins, Jackson and Cynthia, who are in their pre-teens. Jeremiah enjoys hiking and playing ping pong in his free time.

About the SCS Faculty Senate

 

Faculty Senate is involved with making recommendations to the Academic Affairs Committee on the formulation of curricular and academic matters; including: curriculum changes such as course additions, modifications and deletions, divisional additions and deletions, and reviews guidelines regarding biblical integration, the school’s philosophical position on academic freedom, academic standards for the school, faculty policies and similar matters. The Senate has three elected officers: a chair, vice-chair and secretary and written bylaws. It holds meetings of the faculty at least once per module.
